Battleship, SciFi movie or not?

A movie aboutA fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals. (IMDB)”

Some say this might not be the SciFi movie of the year, not because it is’t a great movie but it’s not really that SciFi…

It is true. We miss the old days when we could see good movies on TV and Cinema, movies that had a mature plot not just awesome special effects created to blow your mind in 3D. That’s not SciFi.

I admit. We love the alien theme, we love robots, guns of the future, space ships and those elements that turn a story into fantasy, but it’s more to a real scifi movie than just that.

Real life robots will obey Asimov’s laws of robotics.

Isaac AsimovEuropean researchers are developing a technology designed to enable today’s real-life robots to obey the three laws of robotics invented by Isaac Asimov.

  1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
  2. A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
  3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

We all know them, but seeing them put up to practice can make us have  goosebumps.  If Isaac Asimov‘s laws of robotics can be used to making real life robots, maybe the developers should have an eye opened to all the  robot errors and problems Isaac Asimov also mentioned in his books.

You can follow the researches on PHRIEND.
